Infancy is a distinctive period in a child’s life that calls for unique responses from adults as babies start to develop skills they will use for the rest of their lives. This course presents some of the relevant infant care information in the light of the developmental needs of infants and their parents. Emphasis is on normal and abnormal development of an infant and on weaning diet. Objectives: Understand care of the newborn and infant. Recognize normal and abnormal assessment findings. Understand the developmental assessment of an infant. Perform infant bath and massage. Understand and prepare weaning diet for the infants
